Sometimes We Have to
Forgive Ourselves
Oh,
my goodness. What an important
idea. This idea is bigger than me, yet I’m
gonna chew on it for a while.
It
is a critical piece of psychology. It
is, perhaps, the centerpiece that every person needs to come to grips with in
their life.
What
are your secret thoughts?
What
do you tell yourself about YOU when you are all alone?
Oprah,
on her last TV show, said some important stuff.
“Don’t
wait for
someone else to
complete you.”
You
don’t NEED anyone else to make your life complete. You have all the stuff inside you to go and
do what you want to do. You just have to
believe that.
And
the big quote from Oprah:
"I've talked to nearly 30,000
people on this show, and all
30,000 had one thing in common.
They all wanted validation.
I would tell you that
every single person
you will ever meet
shares that common desire."
Validation!
If,
perhaps, you are one to whom I write today, and you need to forgive yourself,
and you need validation, consider this.
Seek
help. Trained professionals abound. Find a great one, dare to do the hard work,
and seek help.
Rarely
can we traverse these treacherous waters alone.
A wise therapist can help you find forgiveness within.
And
a therapist can help you find validation.
Best
of success as you pursue your own measure of self-forgiveness.
You
deserve it, you know.
This is
my
morning
reflection.
