A
very short story:
There
once was a poor but devout man who lived in a nearby village. When he died, the minister in town said these
words:
When he came there was no light.
When he died there was no darkness.
The
End!
And
how did this man dispel darkness?
~He
respected every man – every woman as a person of worth.
~He
handled his business affairs with truth and honesty.
~He
realized he was one citizen in the vast sea of life, yet his one life mattered
and affected those around him.
~He
shared his light one word, one action at a time.
~He
held his own thoughts and stuck to his own moral charge.
~He
did not look down on someone in a lesser state of the human condition.
~He
stood for right and justice, truth and the honorable life.
~His
word was his bond – you could count on what he promised.
~He
never spoke ill of another.
~He
never tricked or shaded the truth.
~He
never belittled another.
~He
never held an air of superiority.
~He
had class, yet he did not flaunt his class.
~His
good actions spoke louder than his words.
~He
was truth – in word and in deed.
~He
honored his God.
May
you and I be heavily inflicted with these character traits and let it be said
of us …
When he/she dies there will be no darkness.
