Go Make Stuff Up

As evening fell, the story-teller took his seat by the fire and began.

“Come my children, large and small

I’ll tell you a tale; it’s a good one for all

“My words tonight are not in the form of a story at all.  Rather, they are words of encouragement for you.  Each of you will take them to heart in his or her own unique way.  That is the best that I could ever hope for.

Here is what I have to say.

You do not need anyone’s permission to go out and live a creative life.  Age does not restrict you.  Skin color, or height does not dictate your abilities.  Your address does not limit you – for in the realm of creativity there is no such thing as ‘living on the wrong side of the tracks’ or ‘being born in the wrong century’.

You see, you are just as worthy and just as capable of being a creative individual as Alexander Graham Bell, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos or Steve Jobs.

You don’t have to be under thirty to create.  You just have to have a grand desire, a dream of what it is you want to do and the determination to go and do it.

So my word to you is this …Go Make Stuff. 

GO MAKE STUFF!

Don’t wait around for permission.  Don’t wait on the creativity genie to come and zap you with his magic wand.  Don’t wait to buy some magic elixir before you think you can create. 

Just create.  Build.  Make stuff up.  Paint.  Write.  You don’t even need a reason to be creative except for the sheer joy of creativity itself. 

Most writers start writing before they become known and develop a following. The same is true with singers, poets, artists, and business tinkerers.

Declare your intent. Define yourself. Begin the process of becoming whoever it is you want to become.

Who is the person you see in your mind’s eye when you think of finally accomplishing and fulfilling your life’s mission? Start becoming that person NOW! TODAY!

People who follow their dreams discover, along the way, that the dream unfolds with each step of faith taken. Writers can’t see one or two years into the future as to the subjects they will write about. Yet, each piece, each paragraph, surely leads them to next month’s and next year’s writing as surely as the highway leads to the next town.

Are you curious enough to find out where your creativity will lead you? Are you curious enough to find out who you are and of what you are capable of becoming?

Then start!

Start now. Start tomorrow. Start next Monday.

By all means start.

Make the steps. Dream your dream, and make stuff up.

Ideas are strange properties. They are as unique to each of us as our finger prints, our voice print and our DNA. Who cares if an idea has been done before? Remember, it hasn’t been done by you.

Whatever it is you want to say, say it will all your heart. Flood the world with your words, thoughts, ideas and dreams. Launch your episode.
